First Christmas

Hello everyone! Sorry about the delay. Elizabeth's first Christmas went well (most of it). Elizabeth woke me up bright and early at 730. She was playing in her crib and squealing. You could also hear her kicking her legs. I woke up Sam and told him Elizabeth was trying to tell us she wanted to see her toys. We laid there a minute and just listened to her playing and squealing. We finally went and got her. Sam lit candles and put on some Christmas music and got Elizabeth's morning bottle ready. Then Elizabth gave me my first gift. I turned around and found her holding her bottle. As soon as she saw me, she let go. Somebody has been faking it. I have a lazy baby. As long as someone is there to hold it, she won't hold it. After she ate we sat around the Christmas tree and helped her unwrap her presents. It was great! She didn't really know what to do with all the stuff. She kept going for the wrapping paper and tissue paper. She got a mirror thing that sings and lights up and a crawlthrough play wall that makes noise when she plays with the toys on it. That's what she is doing right now. She got a bib that says My Aunt Loves Me. When I showed it to my sister Ashleigh (5 yrs old) she said "That's right, I do. After the gifts and all were opened, we went to my mom's. They of course had already opened their stuff and were playing. My sisters were excited about a gift they were giving to us. It ended up being a scrapbook kit. I've already made one page and will probably do another soon. It is soooooo cool. My mom's house wasn;t that great this year. My mom was sick and everyone was off doing their own thing. Sam made a breakfast cassarole and the only people who ate it were me, him, and my two teenage sisters. Between the four of us, we ate it all. My dad was trying to put together a Thomas the Train set that came with no directions, just a picture. My mom was still feeling sick from the stomach bug, and the little ones were busy playing with their toys and trying to get people to open and set up their stuff (barbie 3-story doll house, transformers) Sam was suppose to fry a turkey and with everyone sick, no one really wanted to eat. We left as soon as it was done. We spent the rest of the day relaxing and playing with Elizabeth and her new toys. The day after Christmas I went shopping with Elizabeth and my sister Kelly. Apparently the little ones were all sick along with my dad. We went to they mall and walmart, and micheal's craft store. I got lots of scrapbooking stuff there. :) Yesterday was spent just playing with Elizabeth. That's it for us. Sam on the other hand, is beginning to look for a new job. The day after Christmas he was yelled at about a job that he apparently did badly in Charleston the previous weekend (when he wasn't even there!) Sam had been sick and running a temp with bronchitis so he did not go on that job. When he tried to explain that to his boss, he wouldn't listen. He boss cussed at him and SPIT on him. That is just plain wrong. He also dropped the bomb that there would be no commission. When we agreed he could go to this job the guy said that there was a base pay of 600 OR the comission for the jobs done that week, whichever was higher. Apparently the guy has now decided not to offer commission. Its a new business and we thought we could trust the guy because he Sam's friend's dad. I guess not. We are hoping he can find something with hours so he can spend time with Elizabeth. That was the whole reason for the job change in the first place. So be praying for us. It will be a rough beginning for the new year. Well, that's about all for now. I'll post a few pics of Elizabeth and be on my way....oh yeah...I could have sworn she said MaMa this morning.....

Hello my loves! I will definitely be praying for you... I guess Elizabeth likes Eeyore! Hooray! Sorry your family, Chrissy, has that bug. Makes it hard to be too excited about the holidays when you feel lousy. I just love this blog thing. I miss being able to see you. I might have to try and talk Jerry into traveling someday! :-) Big Loves to you for New Years. It will be a good one. You are in God's embrace.

Love the pictures. It's neat to see her sitting so tall, straight, and proper.
